RAY OF LIGHT
I feel very tired today, I couldn't sleep and I didn't try to sleep. It's like my body feels like it weighs a ton all of a sudden. But the thing is I'm restless at the same time and its driving me nuts. I want to sleep but my eyes just don't want to listen. My eyes are twitching from using the computer, too much, reading, too much late night TV. Why did they have to make Hey Arnold and Spongebob Square pants so fucking good?! Fatigue couldn't pry my stress ridden eyes from the idiot box. Insight and plain stupidity...what more could a guy ask for?

Anyway, speaking of TV, here's a painting by one of my favorite comic book artists. It's one of my favorite Spider - Man paintings ever done and Spider - Man's not even the main subject! I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. I actually have the comic as well, and I must say the story is as good if not better than the cover. The cover kind of makes me nostalgic every time I look at it. I try to remember how much of a fan I was when I was a kid. I remember sitting in front of the TV during weekends watching Amazing Spider - Man and Spider - Man & Friends till it was time for my merienda or till my head started to hurt from the radiation from the tube...which ever came first. Going back to the painting, I just love how he captured a seemingly ordinary picture into a very profound piece of art. It's like I'm looking at myself, seeing how I fell in love with the character and how I fell in love for what he stands for. Every kid needs a hero and everyone has a different preference from the other. Others love Superman, others Batman while others love Wolverine...I honestly don't know what drew me as a child to love this hero. I could give you the reason why I love him now, since I have a clearer understanding of what he is and what I am, but the same reasons don't just apply when you're three years old and still wet your bed. So what were the reasons? Why out of the hundreds of super - heroes (some of which have better powers) did I fall in love with Spider - Man? Hmmmm...maybe its because of them web - shooters.
